Go Carbon Neutral is Not Paperless Billing

Benjamin recognizes the importance of reducing carbon footprints.  What’s the problem?  Most people don't know how to approach limiting their carbon footprint, and what’s worse, it is difficult to even know how much too offset.  You might not even know what a carbon footprint is, so let’s dive in.

In simplest terms, your carbon footprint is calculated by taking the total amount of carbon dioxide associated with the creation or consumption of products you consume. For example, if you purchase a shirt, carbon emissions come from all of the work that went into making and delivering that t-shirt to you. Factories, ships, cars, and pretty much anything that moves probably produces carbon dioxide.

In order to track these emissions, we have developed an algorithm that acts as a carbon calculator. A carbon calculator uses a detailed analysis of your transactions to break down each purchase and estimate the amount of carbon that was used to create that product. It helps to create a direct link between your lifestyle choices and your carbon footprint.

If you want to offset your carbon footprint (which we all should be doing), you can activate Carbon Neutrality on your Benjamin Credit Card. Contrary to popular belief, Carbon Neutrality goes beyond just paperless billing. Once you’ve activated Carbon Neutrality, you can set up automatic carbon offsets to go carbon neutral. Offsets are opportunities for you to use your rewards to better the environment through eco-friendly projects that take carbon out of the air (think purchasing trees).  This means you can also use your rewards for going green.  Benjamin provides a variety of options to choose from, and every cent you offset goes directly to these projects.
